Best Lunch Spots in Crested Butte

Crested Butte’s National Historic District can be found along Elk Avenue. The street is adorned
with beautiful Victorian buildings of shops, art galleries and restaurants. Guests of Vaquera
House enjoy walking to Elk Avenue from the front steps of the hotel to grab lunch. Often guests
take our complimentary “townie” bikes to lunch as well. When you are searching for the best
lunch in Crested Butte, here are three of our favorite lunch spots.

TEOCALLI TAMALE – 311 ELK AVE, CRESTED BUTTE, CO – (970) 349-2005

This counter service Mexican restaurant is a locals favorite. While everything is good here, you
can’t leave without getting tamales, they are the show stopper. And go ahead and grab a
margarita for lunch too, it’s vacation, right?

FRANK’S DELI – 525 RED LADY AVE, CRESTED BUTTE, CO – (970) 349-5001

Sometimes it’s nice to grab sandwiches to take on adventures or to bring back to Vaquera
House to enjoy. Franks Deli makes sandwiches piled high with all of your favorite toppings. You
should probably call ahead to place your order because they get busy as soon as they open
their doors. While the sandwiches are great, be sure and pick up something sweet as well!

BUTTE BAGEL – 218 MAROON AVE A, CRESTED BUTTE, CO – (970) 349-5630

Imagine fresh bagels made each morning and then topped with all of your favorte lunch or
breakfast toppings. Butte Bagel should most definitely be on your list. This counter service
restaurant does have indoor and outdoor seating. But taking your lunch on a hike is highly
recommended.
