Our Favorite Hikes From the Hotel

We think cars are overrated. The location of our hotel allows for great walks to nearby trailheads. There is nothing better than beginning your day with a quick hike from the hotel. Getting off the beaten path is one of the best ways to experience Crested Butte.

WOODS WALK | Whiterock to Kebler Pass

This family friendly hike will lead you through forests and meadows for scenic views of Peanut Lake. This hike is considered easy and the views of the surrounding mountains are truly stunning. From our hotel, it takes approximately 10-15 minutes to walk to the trailhead of Woods Walk.

TONY’S TRAIL | Whiterock to McCormick Ranch

The walk up Tony’s Trail is a gradual steep climb with switchbacks. Once you arrive at the top, we recommending taking a right. The trail once you arrive at the top is relatively flat and a gorgeous path through the aspens and wildflowers. The views of Whetstone Mountain are incredible. From our hotel, it takes approximately 20-30 minutes to walk to Tony’s trailhead. Feel free to take one of our complimentary bikes to the trailhead to save a little time.

CRESTED BUTTE RECREATION PATH | Whiterock to Gothic Rd

This path connects the town of CB to the base of Mt CB. The views of the valley are gorgeous along the way but definitely expect a big climb. This path is groomed in the winter to allow for walking, fat bikes and cross country skiing. You can also take this hike to South CB and have a nice hike along the river. The rec path takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to from the hotel.
